About How Much Is Car Insurance For 16 Year Olds? by Lance Thorington

I wanted to know about how much is home car insurance for 16 year olds, so I did some research. I thought I might share what I found and save others some trouble looking things up. It turns out that it actually depends on a lot of things.

Some companies want to know the grade point average of the teenager and weather or not they attend school full time. They say that this helps to determine how responsible the driver is and will help determine their eligibility to drive and be insured.

Some states require a certain grade point average in order for teenagers to obtain a drivers license and almost all require driver’s education for teens. You may have to pay for this and some areas have summer courses or classes after school. If they offer them at your child’s school then you may get lucky and not have to pay.

The rates may also depend on if your child is a boy or girl. I know it may sound sexist but in all reality I tend to agree then teenage boys may be a bit harder on cars than some girls. They are more likely to take chances and show off for friends than some girls do but girls are capable of doing these things as well.

The rates will also be determined by the type of car that will be driven. Some cars are made for speed where as other are family friendly and cost lees to repair damages. Also cars that are made for speed are more likely to be driven at faster rates and therefore more likely to be involved in high speed crashes and when this occurs more damage is usually done to the vehicle as well as any other vehicle involved.

Insurance companies gather all of the data and reports and then determine what rates they will charge depending on each individual person. State laws must also always be taken into consideration. While many factors may affect your insurance rate, age and sex are defiantly two of the biggest factors.

No matter what premiums you have to pay, the law states you must have insurance on any motor vehicle driven on public roads regardless of the age of the drive. You may have to pay slightly higher premiums if you have a teenager in your home even if they don’t drive your car.
