The Life History of Manny Pacquiao

Born on December 17, 1978, Manny pacquiao is a Philippine professional boxer who is the current
World Welter Weight Champion as well as the Magazine Light Weight and has been rated as the
number one pound for pound boxer in the whole world. Some of the titles that he has won include the
World Super Featherweight Champion, World Lightweight Champion, World Fly Weight Champion, IBF
World Super Bantamweight Champion, Super Featherweight Champion and he had dominated as the
Ring Featherweight and also the Super Feather Weight Champion for a number of times.

He is one of the boxers who has participated in various other activities like making films, recording
music, acting movies and has also been involved in the field of politics. At the tender age of 16 and
weighing around 106 pounds he joined some boxing show from his town and that is how boxing career
was born, also having been influenced by the death of his friend Mark. Although he started by being
defeated in various matches, he never gave up but took up the challenges through his fists by
increasing his pounds until he won the Super Bantam Weight title which he defended for a number of
times. He dominated the boxing scene as the then champion for some time, until he decided to go for a
World Championship title.

In 2003, he made a significant move by defeating the former champion of the World Super
Bantamweight by a technical knockout which made him appear at the top most position after the match.
He again dominated the title by defending it close to four times.
In 2003, he was crowned the Ring Magazine Featherweight Champion after defeating Barrera by a
technical knockout winning himself a title that he held till 2005.He continued to be famous around the
world and especially when he challenged the then topmost boxer who was at the time the World Boxing
Association Champion as well as International Boxing Federation Champion and the match resulted to a
draw which was controversial. In 2005, Manny Pacquiao fought a number of other international boxers
and won some of the fights while others were left with controversies.

One of the most anticipated fight between him and Morares saw him win the rematch and made him
more famous. He defeated his opponent by making him fall on the referee bodily several times and
finally knocked him down and out of his career he had dominated for a time. From this point, he
continued to defend his title from any other boxer who tried to challenge him. After several successes in
his boxing carrer, he announced that he would join politics and started by visiting the commission of
elections with the backing of the mayor’s son who was to transfer to Manila from Santos city. He showed
his support to Arroyo but he lost by a big margin in 2007 after a general election. Unlike other world
boxers like Floyd Mayweather Jr, the life of Manny Pacquiao and career expanded rapidly after a very
short period of time.
