Vanessa Anne Hudgens (born December 14, 1988) is an American actress and singer. Hudgens’ first major role started in 2004 with Thunderbirds as Tintin and she next played Gabriella Montez in the High School Musical film series.

After the first Emmy-winning High School Musical, she pursued a solo music career and released her debut album V on September 26, 2006. The album debuted at number twenty four in the U.S. charts, selling over 34,000 copies in the first week,  and was later certified Gold. She reprised her role as Gabriella Montez in High School Musical 2 and High School Musical 3: Senior Year. High School Musical 2 was the most-watched basic cable show on record. more celebrities

Hudgens had released her sophomore album, “Identified” in July 1, 2008 in the U.S. and peaked at number twenty three, selling 22,000 copies on its first week.  She will be portraying the role of Sam in the Summit Media film, Bandslam, this July 31, 2009.

Hudgens was born in Salinas, California, the daughter of Gina (née Guangco) and Greg Hudgens.She has a sister, Stella Teodora Hudgens (born November 13, 1995, San Diego). Hudgens’s father is an American of Irish and Native American descent, and her mother, who grew up in Manila, is a Filipino-born of Filipino, Spanish, and Chinese descent.  Hudgens has been home-schooled since after her seventh-grade year at the Orange County High School of the Arts. more
